When using O-ring, under frequent or long-term pressure impact, over time, a small amount of sealing material will be sheared out from the low-pressure side clearance. This phenomenon is known as "extrusion damage". Under the same working condition, if the quad seal ring(rectangular seal) is adopted, no extrusion damage will occur.

1) What is the difference between O ring and Quad ring?
The Quad ring is suitable for static sealing and the O ring is suitable for both static sealing and dynamic sealing. The rated pressure of O-ring is 32 MPa, while the Quad ring for seal used in machines is 50 MPa. The O ring is mainly used in hydraulic system and hydraulic parts.
2)What rubber do you use for the quad ring?
There are many materials which can be used to manufacture the quad ring for seal. We usually choose different rubber according to different usage and requirements from the clients. The rubber are including Nitrile rubber, Silicone rubber, Natural rubber,EPDM and etc.

There are many advantages of the quad ring such as slow aging.Due to the shape characteristics of the rectangular seal ring (quad ring), it will not be distorted after installation; after pre-compression, the deformation is small; when the hydraulic pressure changes, the shape is also small. The cross-sectional stability is well known as the seal ring.
