CRUMB Rubber in Dromiskin launched its new range of matting products at Dundalk stadium last Saturday. The recycling and mat manufacturing company marked the launch with a sponsored race and a drinks reception for key industry figures.

A large local employer with 24 staff, Crumb Rubber's managing director, Leo Kerley felt it was important to support the local track.

' We have recently installed matting in Dundalk, from the stable yard out onto the track and feel it is a great show case for our products.'

Crumb Rubber is well established in the equine industry through their granulate products for surfaces.

'We also saw this as an opportunity to give something back to a sport that has supported us well with our other products,' he added.

Crumb Rubber Ireland Ltd has been manufacturing granulate rubber for the equestrian market since 2003. The company produces a range of recycled rubber matting designed to create safe a secure surfaces in stables, walkways, loading ramps and all hard surface areas.

The company, along with Dundalk's Horseware Ireland, also recently participated in Enterprise Ireland's Eqspo 2009 – Ireland's first international buyer showcase for Irish products and services for the equine industry.

Up to 60 buyers from 34 international companies attended Eqspo 2009 from 16 countries including the UK, US, UAE, China, Singapore, Qatar, Turkey, France, Germany and Austria.
